idk, it's meh, whatever, AI, good... the way i read the babel story it was the same as governments officially declaring what the national language is in modern times

this was very popular 100-200 years ago all over europe, and the "standardisation" of language is a signature act of communism, in fact, which is Babel imperial tyranny

making it easy for people to understand each other is not the same as forcing them to all learn the same dumbed down version a language

all standardised language definitions are opinions, there's oxford english, and cambridge english, and washington english and houston english... they are interoperable but they are not being forced on you at school
btw in one of the apocrypha, the Book of Jasher, it literally has names of places that sound like Lombardy and Italy and the Seine river in the section about Babel, i need to read through it again, it's fascinating... that is a really really expanded version of Genesis

my favourite bit so far reading it has been that the Isaac/Jacob/Esau story actually there wasn't the fake furry skin deception in it
They used to be forced on kids in school, especially in Europe. French is really Parisian French of 200 years ago - several dozen dialects got wiped out in the name of nationalism. Same with Germany mostly speaking northern German and even Bavaria barely uses their own dialect. Imo this is bad, very bad. Local language is defense of local community.
yeah, it's the same everywhere... this is the prussian indoctrination child prisons called schools, and why it's mandatory and government tries to control everything about all private institutions

some ethnic groups refused to go along with it though, it's pretty cool... like in romania and serbia there is a whole culture of ethnic russians who still speak russian before the late tsarist and communist era, and they are politically strong enough that serbian government buildings have to have signs written in their language, they call them "Russines"... there is many of these kinds of cultures around, Amish are another, it can be deeply intertwined with religion too, and i'd guess that Russines are also strict orthodox
It used to be that everyone here spoke Bavarian, so speaking fluent Hochdeutsch was a sign of education and wisdom.
Now, it's increasingly the other way around.
You guys used to be a nation. Same can be said of everyone, everywhere. We all gave away the best thing we had. We all fell for a trick - that to be a nation without a state was pathetic ; but its the opposite - to be subsumed into a state but lose your nation is what's really pathetic. Its not too late.
