@948015c9 As a lifelong Democrat, it is pretty sweet watching the Republicans behave like Democrats in terms of party unity. Incredible times. It means there remain openings for good things to happen—like winning back the House.
@bb1a99d2 Heh. I did think of that. In their defence the Democrats are oft pulled apart because they’re a broad coalition. The Republicans, at this point, are being torn apart because their purpose has become to tear things down. Proving governance can’t work has come home to roost.
@948015c9 The Democrats seem to pull it together for the important stuff in a way they used to not—they sacrificed the good for the great. I mean, that’s Biden’s motto practically: “DON’T sacrifice the good for the great,” which is why Bernie supports him. Biden has been effective at getting epochal legislation through that lags what we want but is the most progressive possible position in most cases achievable with the current Senate and former House…and current House, ha ha.
