I prefer something edible, but beautiful and less structured, so that the area surrounding my home is lovely.

Small gardens are highly-inefficient, but making them dual use (decorative and edible) counters that.
This is what I’ve been trying to do. 50/50 success. I started with poor soil and just weeds. On year three, finally the aromatics are finding their roots. Now to mix in some veggies and medicinal plants.

Do you have any favorite edible and decorative plants? I’ve literally been trying everything and seeing what survives. 😅 We have hot hot summers here.
I'm in Germany, so it's hard to compare.

Central Texas was peaches, aloe, and pecans. What about an avocado 🥑 tree?
Oh I thought about aloe. The others we don’t really have space for.

I’m in Spain. Hi neighbor.
 Hi! 👋
There's no point in putting everything into neat rows (and risking the spread of pests and disease), when you are only planting 5 of whatever and 3 of thatother, and never disturb the soil.

There's no need to ever hoe anything, after all.
 Need cows, milk and meat!
 Amazing! Beautiful work! 💐️
 Not mine, but yeah.
 YES💚🌼
