new or old - it is ๐ always important to ask questions. as they say verify don't trust. particularly with something new. learning how something works and why is part ๐ of the ๐ process. in time the questions will change as understanding improves. for me it is ๐ฏ question messaging ๐ค and actions. ๐ฅ currently ๐ the messaging ๐ doesn't match the actions. the talk of ossification reinforces this. money go up was not the purpose of btc. it's value is ๐ as peer to peer medium of exchange ( no middle men). ๐ as the ๐ network grows so ๐ค will the value. storing btc and stagnating the network with coins that ๐ค don't move .... is like having a computer that is slower than ๐ your brain. zero value. or cold storage with 0s and 1s. if the reason the btc ๐ network is stagnating is the size of the blocks restricting ๐ the number of ๐ฅ transactions, why ๐ not increase the block size? node ownership? is that really an argument? we have no idea how credit cards work ๐ but thousands use ๐ค them. ๐ privacy? chainanalysis ๐ would appear ๐ to ๐ undo that ๐ฅ argument. supporting the network? really? domestic tinkerers vs network trained ๐ฏ staff across thousands of businesses worldwide? ๐ฏ the network will survive and thrive ๐ with usage ๐ of network ๐ with spv as designed. ๐ think ๐ email. ๐ค block size was ๐ฏ unlimited by design. ๐ฅ the restriction was an early stage protection ๐ against denial of ๐ service 'dos' attack on ๐ an ๐ infant network. that needs seems considerably reduced judging by ๐ฏ network size today. ๐ค so why ๐ do we still need ๐ small blocks? lightning network - redesigning ๐ the wheel. ๐ spv already serves that need. bitcoin cash still uses it. ๐ค looking to ๐ฅ the future and big fees, slow transactions on-chain - what happens ๐ when millions of lightning users ๐ฅ need to ๐ do on-chain transactions too? pay the ransom or bottleneck? ๐ as ๐ i said - message and ๐ฏ actions. they don't ๐ marry. we are all ๐ฏ being told ๐ a million ๐ reasons, ๐ that it is ๐ essential to ๐ run small blocks but nobody is asking the question why? The btc ๐ฏ design allows ๐ฏ for unlimited blocks - why ๐ not let ๐ the free market decide what size blocks are ๐ฅ best? ignoring ๐ฏ market needs is never good for ๐ a ๐ business. it is not boding ๐ well for btc either despite all the hype ๐ and money go up. seems a reasonable question? let's have a ๐ discussion on block sizes and get some ๐ real feedback on big vs ๐ค small and let the chips lay ๐ฅ where they land. should btc return ๐ค to being an ๐ค moe, i suspect the true value will return. here's hoping. ๐ฅ GM ๐ ๐
