Once you go crypto, traditional banking transfer times feels like an eternity.

I honestly dread doing a bank transfer. The worse feeling is having to pay for it too.
This is the biggest redpill, you will see the last breath of a bank 🏦
Its the idiocy too. I transferred to my south African account last week from an account I always use and still had to verify myself transferring to me! WTF?
If it's from outside of SA they'll always ask you to declare.

Once here though, you're able yo transfer between banks instantly using payshap, a service whether reserve bank acts as escrow.

It's exactly like crypto, and is offered for free but depending on the bank they'll charge you a fee 💀
Unfortunately haven't been over for a while so am sure things have changed. There do seem to be a few more hoops than before from outside to me but that may be post orange pill perception.

Out of curiosity, anyone over there commenting or asking questions about banking website downtime increases on SA banks over past 18 months or so?
not that I know of. I don't use internet banking but have noticed several instances of the banking service apps going down or at least getting a sms saying "we're back online" - I hardly use banking services or keep much in my accounts
Yes, same. It's interesting signal though. Pretty bad downtime. One has to wonder with banks if it truly is technical
 Fuck them
Shared sentiment. Hope many have been oranfe pilled though
I think it's a case of "I know about it but actually can't afford it" because also, what do you really use it for? Most here are struggling to make ends meet, let alone stacking sats
Yeah that's certainly a big issue. Been 6 years now so out of touch big time really
Besides, might be a good signal for you
 what do you mean?
I mean if you want a barometer of potential liquidity crunch in SA banks, just check web services uptime charts
Question obviously is if it’s internet connectivity on their side but it’s atrocious uptime for a bank of that size! https://image.nostr.build/1bba34965e6ffcfbcb0647b49f61fae791167a259c35250d195f8fd31ab667e2.jpg
honestly wouldn't know - never banked with the big four/five. I assume no issues though - but it could be hackers too because it's a global outage in many places around the world.
Hard to say. Potential signal. It was south afrucan friend that pointed it out and said compared to other banks in other countries and stood out. Who knows. Maybe something to keep an eye on here and there
