All uploads immediately get a link, but the links are not public until you share them. In theory someone could guess a link, but it would not be easy, and even harder to find whose link it is. 

 I appreciate you taking the time to respond to this post and give me some clarity on how it works. This is excellent for my current purposes. Thank you and please keep up the great work!
