Have you tried to find local meat producers? Buying a whole or half pig or beef can be more affordable and likely better quality than grocery store meat. 

Do you raise any animals for meat? Interested to learn? Many on here will be happy to help with this. Chicken and rabbits are pretty easy for beginners. Animals you raise can be very affordable if you are creative with feed sources.

 I sometimes am able to buy meat from a ranch in Texas when I visit family, but otherwise I usually get Costco meat which seems to be the best bang for the buck in my opinion.  I will start buying local again when I can afford it though.
