Is it the mountain, or its myth? Which do you feel brings humans to its base?
I can confirm it's real, it's approx 300 km away from my hometown. This entire Karakoram mountain Range is something else, there is nothing else like it in the entire world.
Sorry I was obtuse. I meant why do you think K2 stands out as a mountain of notoriety, do you think its difficulty is the only reason? Or have mountaineers told one too many stories in base camp about it and now its lore brings climber to “conquer” it
