How does one study the art of humbleness? Seems like you are or you are not humble.
You can catch your unhumble thoughts and actions, reflect on them and actively work to change the next opportunity you get, if that's what you want.

Meditatioins by Marcus Aurelius has been a good start for me so far.
I've gotten a lot out of reading the Tao Te Ching. Got my editor to display a passage per day on its startup page as a continual reminder.

Pardon my buttinski. This seems an exceedingly perplexing journey. I would venture that one remain curious, and aware of how little one truly knows, of other’s lives, of processes, of even oneself. When I begin congratulating myself on this or that virtue, accomplishment, etc, is when I tend to meet my instant karma, reminding me of my foolish ways.
