Seems like 95% of folks listen to music while working out. Anybody else rawdog their routine like a psychopath?
I would like to, but everyone in my family steals my headphones. Rawdog not by choice.
Always with music, and always the same songs. Gives me a sense of time doing my workout.
I don't have to, but I much prefer to listen to music. I have a playlist that is continuously updated that has a similar BPM and intensity to the songs. I can be at a point where I'm pretty fatigued, but when the right track comes on with the right attitude, it can absolutely give me a second or third wind. Also, my wife recently forgot her headphones at home so we shared my AirPods and she immediately wanted a link to my playlist after our workout because it worked so well. There's power in music, but I can also appreciate a more meditative approach to working out.
I like to music restrict 90% of the time and then on really hard workouts bring the earbuds
I am happily in the 5%
yes. i find it much more relaxing not to listen to music, to concentrate on the exercise or to think. When else do you have time to organize your thoughts without distractions?
Audiobooks is where is at my friend, getting jacked and smart (or pretentious) at the same time.
100%. Music is a distraction for strength or HIIT workouts and my performance goes down. For long slow distance I do listen.
