One easy way into the conversation if the family member is more conventional: being in ketosis usually improves the efficacy of standard treatments. For someone who is willing to go down a rabbit hole, I've seen lots of positive references to Paleomedina. I don't think they list cancer on their website but I've heard several folks mention that the main dr in that practice has had success with remission for patients who are willing to go all-in with her dietary suggestions.

Yeah, but those convos don't always go very well (ask me how I know...).
Also I think that's almost always true - certainly for the kinds of cancers that would show up on a PET scan - but that some cancers apparently use diff substrates for growth. (? I went deep into this ages ago, and don't remember the details so I could be/would love to be wrong about that.)
In any case everything improves when you improve your metabolic health!
