If you’re building a long-form note composer you should obsess about the quality bar that Substack has achieved You may not love the centralizing forces present in Substack, but you can’t deny the composer is absolutely world class Who’s going to be first to meet/beat that bar as a Nostr-native tool?
funny coincidence. to be frank, I think Habla does well, especially compared to Medium dot com and so on. nostr:note1fwumnv5tzr66jp9e44r6auskh20fmuk8hac0g3h45llmmvgt2pusuaetuv
I hadn’t thought about “compiling in markdown”… do you use WYSIWYG tools and then save/copy/paste into a compiling step? Which tools do you use?
to be frank: Visual Studio Code, where I do a 60/40 split of editor and preview 😅
ha… most writers don’t have VS Code installed… even very technical writers
true story. you could also use apps like https://ia.net/writer
nostr Obsidian plugin supposedly works nicely to publish nostr blogs and wiki entries. https://github.com/jamesmagoo/nostr-writer
oh, hadn’t seen this before, thanks for sharing. Obsidian looks very polished. So this nostr-writer is just nostr-focused adaptation stuff for Obsidian?
Yeah Obsidian uses markdown, so the plugin would connect to relays and publish the file you have or also a short note. I saw that there's a video demonstration. Wish there was an emacs version 😅
I’m more a “vi” guy myself 😉
also, I can both appreciate all the work these teams are putting into these tools, but also recognize that “normie-writers” are not going to go nostr-native until the tools reach a minimum bar which I don’t think anyone has achieved yet
