@55b3f2a1 A kinda bright teacher in college taught us that the east coast might not be a great place to live, based on what appeared to be weather cycles that repeat on a "Roanoke" type basis!
He said the early settlers really got screwed by arriving just at the very worst part of the ~half-millenium weather cycle there.
