The farmer got replaced by the corporate farm some time ago.
Then it became de rigueur to work too many hours, which made restaurants and take-out more popular.
Now we live on crap food so we can keep working to pay the taxes that keep diversity and socialism funded.

He and others have realized that factory farms are a good investment.
As the current order collapses, people will still want to eat.
