There's plenty of use cases. For text, I've seen some patreon users charging $10 per month, unlimited tokens, and the dude had 20k subscribers... at $10 per month.. one Dev..

There are many solo dev's using models and datasets from Hugging Face et al. spinning up their own instance and then charging people for usage.
Everything from create your own sex character to role playing.
In fact, I tried both TTS(whisper) and the GPT for roleplaying in my games, unfortunately, the api breaks character so it's not really doable with Open AI.
Whisper is SST, not TTS. Open AI new API looks great unless they faked the demo like Google
You'd use whisper for a full experience. I got an email from them yesterday but been using the new app for a week or two.
