Tor Browser (on Pop!_OS, anyway) blows goat nads. WTF!

Is there any way to get a more regular browser to accept tor links? TB keeps crashing on me and that is just unacceptably stupid these days.

#asknostr #tor #torbrowser
have you tried running Tor in Tails?
That won't help me in my case. As usual, I'm trying to do something that should already be easy but no one else has bothered to make it work so I'm boned.
 I feel the pain.

Then again, I built and ran "Linux From Scratch" once, so maybe I'm a masochist.

If Pop OS has all the required build tools (looks like they do) and packaged libraries (probably), you should be able to plonk the source down in your /opt folder, build the TB binary in place, then just run TB from there without messing up your package manager.

I currently do this for FreeCAD, because Devuan's packaged build is ancient...
I refuse. I hate this. The stupid pop_os installer isn't working correctly. I'm... Kinda tired of pop and this might cause me to nuke everything and go back to mint.
 That will work, too...
It's a lot more work since I need to figure out WTF to back up. There's a lot of dead digital junk on my laptop at this point.
Ha! I know how that is!

Years ago I built a 1TB encrypted RAID array to be my digital sock drawer. I resist every temptation to expand it, instead going over it and deleting stuff whenever its getting full. Tedious - but very necessary for me...
Brave also supports Tor however I wouldn't trust it to the same extent at you would trust the Tor Browser
It sure the heck hasn't worked at all for me. *sighs*
Maybe try the flatpak or something
If that doesn't work then maybe you might have to build from source
I wish I knew the difference. There's too many options for me to GAF about.

Its for Ubuntu but it's the same process for PopOS
Nope. Nothing works so far with the flatpack stuff. I'm gonna quit messing with it lest I get too pissed off at it.
Are you running the flatpak version?
 I don't think so.
Well, try that. I haven't had issues with it
It won't download through the popos installer. I'm done with this for the evening.
Try brave browser. I believe it will accept tor links. You could also run tails in a VM.
I really like LibreWolf so far. I was diehard Brave fan for years, but made the switch last week.
