I think the biggest thing holding me back is fear of failure. How does one overcome this? #asknostr
Shut off your brain and trust your intuition. Don't overthink and start loving failures, which help you to improve!
Fuck you
You need a hug bb? 🫂
Haha, not that kind of problem. I think mainly I fear two things: 1. Inadequate marketing. To get people to buy things, it takes advertising/marketing/sales, which I’m not naturally good at and don’t enjoy. So even if I make something that I like, it could whither on the vine. 2. Legal intervention. If successful—say I build out a business of some kind—I fear being contacted by and having to deal with legal issues.
My hug comment was directed to that rude bot 😬 regardless tho, I know what you mean. I’m self employed, and while I love the service I provide & the clients I work for - I hate the sales side and driving growth. Never been a salesman. Everything in life has positives and negatives. The legal hurdles can definitely be scary to. Retain a trusted professional who can be a real guide (and not a leech) Best of luck!
Yeah, I’m thinking of adopting a mantra of some kind. “What would you do if you knew you’d succeed?” or something like that.
Treat fear as a friend Don't push it away but embrace it, and grow stronger together Also you've got nothing to lose
By realizing that failure is not final but fear of failure is. Change the framing and you will overcome. 🤙
Fear and excitement are two sides of the same coin. You can only fail so much before you succeed. Every new endeavor is like a new video game. Noone starts out a pro at a new video game. You have to grind to get good. 🫂 You're just playing a new video game.

Are you certain it is the fear of failure? Many times when I work with shadow work and self sabotage clients, it is actually the fear of success that holds people back. But the fear of failure is a socially accepted narrative so we usually go to that one first in our minds to explain our behavior. The fear of failure can be overcome by surrendering to failure and accepting it. Oftentimes the brain has a narrative of failing being the end or some unrecoverable moment in time. When you shift the mindset to the entrepreneur mindset and expect failure - you see it as an opportunity to pivot and evolve. There are other mindset hacks as well but this is the key - to change how you see and define these events. The fear of success s a bit more challenging because we have to understand the root of the narrative which requires more digging and mining into your past. This is usually centered around fears of outshining people you love, a lack of trust in yourself with success, fake, influence, wealth, or power, and even a deep worthiness issue where you don’t see why you deserve it. As a result what manifests is a sort of weakness in going for your dreams, giving up too soon, being crushed under pressure, procrastination, etc. Obviously for your situation we would have to have a consult, but this is generally what I observe for my coaching clients.
Think of a situation, in which youy may feel to have failed of in which you have succeded as of an scientific experiment. You have created a theory of how something may work and in this experiment you put your theorie to an test to proof it write or wrong. For a scientist a disproofed theory is not a failure - it is just a different way to gain knowledge how things work. The only important thing for you is to gain knowledge out of this experiment. HTH!
