Cashu protocol is intriguing though btw, I want to learn more about it. I am a very curious person. I have a lot to learn about Monero as well still. One thing I think is true is that society settles on one money naturally. If that is Bitcoin (which seems to be the case for “crypto”) then for practical reasons, shouldn’t Cashu be embraced?
100% custodial, good tech to rug users basicly Trust, don't verify
Great for beer-and-skittles money, and for onboarding newbies. Almost no learning curve, unlike self-hosted Lightning.
I don't know what fetiche Bitcoiners have to sell bad solutions as good if it were for small amounts 😅 Ligthning is shit, and ecash is even worse.. 🤣 When people change the self-sourveign values by NGU values shit happens.. And it is a matter of time to Blackrock and friends to make a fork and fuck you all..
If there’s a fork is it not an entirely different asset at that point? So why would that matter
I hold XMR and shiny rocks along with my BTC, not a maxi here. I care about "not getting rekt" more than I care about NGU. eCash can be forked by anyone, any time. Its not trustless and cannot be, but its madly flexible - works even offline and via paper bearer tokens.
cashu will bring fractional reserve banking and inflation. there's no point.
Explain a bit more how? I’m a layman, admittedly

You can do some cool things with Ecash, but ultimately it is custodial and trust-based. The mint can turn malicious and rug you, or be forced to close down by governments and keep your money. It's not a replacement for Monero "Cashu isn't an alternative to Monero. Monero is cool." -Calle creator of Cashu
