 Red Cross is a Ponzi Kite scheme where funds raised from one disaster dont go to that disaster, but may support future disasters. They lost me after Katrina.

Another well known but dubious charity is Susan G Komen.

I no longer support large national/global charity efforts of any kind and instead direct to local/regional. Its easier to see and verify impact and ensure funds arent being abused for jetsetting for more fundraising to support the lifestyle. 

 Good logic; I’ll have to think about that. 

 I spent some time around a pretty large-scale Red Cross operation once. What's really strange is that I never met a single person who was actually being paid. The labor is donated. The food is donated. The equipment, if it doesn't have a cross on it, is donated. Where does all that money go, then?
