 TheSoloMiningCo from X:

"By definition, true solo mining would be your own node, your own hardware and your own method to solo mine to a server/pool you control, in this case, public-pool running on your computer. By definition, the word "solo" comes into play here - solo meaning "by oneself".

With Public-Pool.io, this is someone's own setup of their node and their own instance of public-pool running and we all connect to it out of convenience. On this, the chap who manages public-pool.io is the only one truly solo mining here as "he is in control" and we are not truly solo mining as we are connecting to someone else's server / solo pool, thus eroding the "solo" aspect.

Technically speaking, us connecting to solo-pool.io is no different than one running their own instance of public pool and connecting to it.

From a philosophical stand point, we aren't truly solo mining by doing this as we are connecting to something we are not in control of.

I feel your point is more of a philosophical one rather than a technical one."
 yeah i get this all.
but where is the solution to run my #bitaxe
with real solo mining?
where is the information
is it so hard to answer a dump guy like me?
Sorry...I don't know how to set up my own mining pool yet. Learning. Till then https://web.public-pool.io is my solution.
Umbrel running on small i5 pc with a 2tb SSD. It seems to have what is needed and is an open source solution.
