 okay, please explain to me the difference between two

my understanding is

whom - for somebody

who - somebody 
 Yeah kind of. If there is a connector word like to, for, with, from, etc. then whom is the proper form. But as i try to think of a more “technical” explanation i’m realizing i am fucking regarded 
 one of us

 Idk when to even use whom so I just avoid it
