 I hope this only relates to the dedicated support and does not affect the availability of future releases for the diy community. Or are there already plans to charge for the use/publication of new versions for the DIY community?

 New versions of what? StartOS is a free open source project. It's just premium 1-1 support that is charged for.

 Start9 will always make free software. This is for on-demand access to technical experts in a scammer-free space. Some people see huge value in that.
