What's the strangest research you've done for your writing.

Umm... *looks around*

1. Bondage for a story with an enby character who happened to be a sub with a very very specific kink? (maybe some day I'll tell the tale of the bloke who read that story and thought I might be a sub with that specific kink, hahaha sorry no bro I am not that exciting and am vanilla AF).
2.tentacle pr0n for another story when the love interest is an alien?
3. Various things about body horror and supernatural mutilations but my primary research interest is Gothic so that's kind of expected, right.

What's the strangest research you've done for your writing.

Research? You mean there are fiction writers who specifically go out and *do research* instead of just soaking it up as they go along? 

Most recently: toured the Airbus factory in Hamburg. I mean it might come in handy some time? And I have a couple of degrees that have no relationship to what I do for a living but mean I know a *lot* about some relatively esoteric topics that come in handy ...
