Depends on what you mean, clients like apps on app stores and websites can be taken down sure, but you could run a client on your device, instead if you couldn't access a website or app
The relays storing the posts, if governments go after companies running relays they might be able to take the content down or asking them to blacklist certain relays, but the content will still be available somewhere on another relay to be accessed
So you can always take your account and content to another client, if you were removed from a certain front end/client
Pretty great. News NewsBreak was pretty free, but now they’ve banned anonymous email for registration. They always censored, but it always took a while and you could just set up a new account…no longer.
We need a blockchain version of NewsBreak. Do that and we’ll have a revolution.
Why do you feel there needs to be a blockchain involved? Blockchains are not censorship resistant by default, who will be securing it, whats their economic incentive to secure the chain, who is going to deploy resources to validate the chain?
Blockchains are awful data management tools
I’m no expert, so whatever is going to make it impossible to censor.
It's a hard problem to solve, nostr solves it by redundancy, if one relay censors you, your content can exist and be pulled from another, if all public relays censor you, you can run your own relay and no one can take down that instance of your content
