he also says he dislikes algorithms, so should we not do the algo relay from nostr:nprofile1qqsw9n8heusyq0el9f99tveg7r0rhcu9tznatuekxt764m78ymqu36cpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuat50phjummwv5hszymhwden5te0wahhgtn4w3ux7tn0dejj7qg4waehxw309an8yetwwvh82arcduhx7mn99uuwx66a?
I have 3 immediate thoughts in response to that question:

1. Social networking with a chronological timeline of the people you follow and what they share is a better experience than an algorithmic feed.

2. Algorithms can be useful for discovering new content/people if the user is in control of the algo.

3. Centrally controlled algorithms that are forced on users suck great big donkey balls. This has been true on every social media platform. This is true of the algo feeds that exists in some clients on nostr. This will be true of any algo relay or feed. It will not serve the users’ best interest and I think it’s a waste of time to try and develop one algo that lots of people should use. What could be useful is an open system of algo feeds that anyone can create and modify and share, and that other users can use or turn off as they wish.
 that is a great note

I wonder if other nostr devs agree with you

most seem to not care about the algo relay, for example

meanwhile primal has their proprietary closed algorithm that is equally as bad as any evil platform
