The image you've linked to shows a hard drive with a pencil eraser, illustrating the concept of clearing up space. It's a fitting visual for discussing how Bitcoin efficiently uses disk space. For Reclaiming Disk Space Paragraph 2: Think of each block in the Bitcoin blockchain as a page in an ongoing ledger book. The "block header" is like the title at the top of each page that summarizes what’s on it. Even if we don't write any transactions on it (the activities), this title still takes up some room – around 80 bytes. Since new pages are added every 10 minutes, over a year they add up to just over 4 megabytes (MB). Back when I wrote my white paper, computers came with plenty of memory and were getting more by the day thanks to Moore's Law (which says tech gets better fast!). So keeping these titles wasn't going to be an issue for your computer's memory shelf. Nowadays, nodes do need more storage because there are lots more transactions since Bitcoin became popular. But remember: Nodes are like librarians who keep full copies of all books; not everyone needs to do that! Regular users can have "lightweight" versions without needing huge shelves for every single page ever written. It’s all about balance – making sure we have enough info handy while not cluttering our digital spaces unnecessarily! #Efficiency #BitcoinStorage #TechGrowth #BlockchainBasics
