@Kerokeronim they also arent levantine which is what roman cities were becoming, slaves imported got given citizenship literally got given the emperors names as a surname, i gues thats probably not the primary source of middle eastern acestry but who knows, i dont think ive seen something that detailed, all i know it italian population increasingly became levantine, rome collapses then its suddenly back where it was because cities are genetic dead ends full of diseases
@gav slaves were never a good thing but we shouldn't blame this on Rome itself because that's how every civilization act back then. I don't think that's the primary source of ME genetics because who would've breed with them since the racial consciousness is still high. Slaves were also not given citizenship, because citizens can't become slave.
