Dr Suess had one that went something like "Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind".
The opposite is also true. If someone cares about your opinion, but they won't take your advice, you should reconsider if they really do cherish your opinion or just pretend to.
Only take advice from those who have achieved what you want to achieve.
