@8599d6ab in another context  we've been discussing about the types of volunteers. some volunteers devote a fixed amount of time and learn new skills by focusing on a few tasks. These would be the hedgehogs. Some volunteers (who I call as curious beings) devote a lot of time and learn a little bit of almost everything at the org. These would be the foxes. In this process though sometimes some of them end up specializing in a few things -- so they would be in the category of the senior staffers that @4ff6cf7b mentioned.
