Ok this is a RANDOM question but I know I’ll get some good info because I’m on nostr.

What’s the deal with getting dogs neutered?

Is it a MUST?! Or just a “because that’s what everyone does” kind of thing.

All I’ve heard is that they will be less aggressive.

I’ve also learned that most things we’ve been told are straight up BS.

I just don’t want to take removing a man’s balls lightly.

🤣, thank you.

I neutered my male dog a long time ago but I probably wouldn’t again. I think it does make them more subdued and lackidaisical
Depending on the breed, if they don’t get neutered they will have health problems later on especially if they don’t mate.
 Exceptions happen
Your dog is your best fren. Would u make ur best fren a eunuch? They need hormones to be happy and healthy
"Your dog is your best friend"

This is the problem right here. If you have a dog for some practical reason (eg herding sheep) you keep it intact to produce future generations & sell the extras.

Once a dog becomes a replacement for human companionship its vitality becomes secondary. It's just a living teddy bear for you to hug.
it was figure of speach to make point. dogs are companions not frens. frens have thumbs

point is. leave their nads alone. just dont let them run around and breed.

Mine is neutered. They did it at the SPCA when he was a pup.
You could chemically neuter it by feeding it soy, seed oils and a vegan diet. Also don’t let it get any natural sunlight.
The great thing about this method is that it is reversible.
Medical reasons, injury to dog-self, city living with lots of strays, …

Do not take it lightly and outweigh the pros and cons 🤘

I would alter the general public statement of “making them less aggressive”.
I would say lowering the testosterone can make some calmer than their baseline but “aggression” is the wrong word, imo
