Great point. I need to find biodiesel. It’s not common round my way but I do think I know of one fuel station that has it.
If you can, find renewable diesel. They are slightly different chemically, biodiesel is an ester and as such can be rough on the seals in your injection pump and lines. Renewable is refined from biological sources, so closed carbon loop, but chemically is more pure than fossil fuel diesel. It will eliminate soot in the EGR valve and DPF.
 Non petroleum fuels destroy engines.
Not renewable diesel. It isn’t an ester. It’s the double bonded oxygen at the end of the carbon chain that can cause trouble in high concentrations. Up to 20% biodiesel is probably harmless. Renewable diesel doesn’t have that problem.
