How often do you use NIP05 addresses as identifiers (e.g. to go to a profile page, to search, to mention, to DM)?

I have a suspicion it's not used much if anything. Do you know any NIP05 by heart except your own?
 I know odells, nvks, a few node-runners... 🤷‍♂️

If you only use nostr as your internet, it's unnecessary. But I don't think we're there yet.
In couldn't even remember my own until I recently switched to using my own domain so I could do nip46 login via Amber.
How is NIP05 related to nip46?
when logging into a new client you enter your nip05 and then get a prompt from your signer.
behind the scenes there is a nip46 section in .well-known/nostr.json which lists nip36 relays for each pubkey.
So I need to change my nostr.json to support that?
yes, so the client know which relay(s) to use communicate with the signer.
relay.nsec.app is a popular one even if you don't use nsec.app as the signer.
you don't have to use the same address as you list in your kind-0 but it makes sense to.
 Never
Web of Trust >> NIP-05 (DNS based)
 I dropped the nip05
 Based
I use them as a URL shortcut on some apps.
Doesn't that require that you memorize some of them?
Yeah, but I have some memorized.

Also, I can just look and then type it in. Trying in an npub is like 😜

I sometimes can't copy-paste, for weird technical reasons.
