I remember reading once that these designs always have a single deliberate flaw, was that true or was I reading a load of rubbish?
I read somewhere that you are putting your heart and soul into the making process and the flaw is so your soul can get out, or that's the gist. It was more eloquently put.
In the past, nomadic carpets were woven by weavers who creatively depicted their surroundings in their designs. This is similar to primitive art found in cave paintings or on pottery, where they aimed to represent their environment in a minimalistic way. These are not flaws but rather genuine expressions of the weavers' perceptions of their world. The choice of colors was also influenced by their emotions; darker colors might be used when they were sad or grieving, while bright and vibrant colors reflected happiness.

Due to their constant migrations, nomads had to complete their carpets during the periods when they were settled. Nomadic carpets have always inspired me because I see an honesty in them that reflects the true feelings and experiences of the weavers.
