Oddbean new post about login | logout I want to run my own #bitcoin node. I looked at Umbrel but it seems expensive for what it is. Is the raspberry pi setup still a great option? I have a couple of Mac laptops I no longer use. Would prefer a standalone device rather than using a Laptop.
I tried to repurpose an old laptop, but it was fiddly and the hard drive only 750GB, so it was slow like molasses. Bit the bullet a bought a Pi 5 / Umbrel setup for about US$300, now it’s humming away. The experience was like night and day! Well worth the money…
