This is s lesson that even though most people in the world are good and well-meaning, all it takes is one in a thousand to be a sadist with a bad attitude (or even just boredom) to make your life hell for no good reason.
If you're active and visible on the internet, you *must* take this into consideration and protect yourself anf your family accordingly.
This also underscores how important it is to protect online anonymity. "I'm a good person that has nothing to hide" means NOTHING and cannot protect you in case there's a vengegul psychopath out there that want you to suffer for whatever reason.

There's value in being anonymous, private, and public—each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Personally, that’s why I prefer having an account for each option.
