The “maximalist culture” is such a weak, thoughtless argument.

The primary people giving life to this protocol are “bitcoin maximalists.”

If the “Toxic Bitcoin Maxis” left, there would be substantially fewer people here and development would likely slow significantly.

Maybe thank them instead of constantly over generalizing and trying to demonize.
I've thought about and written about the culture at length.

From what I've seen, actual builders rarely play the toxic maximalist role. And to date, nostr vibes have been overwhelmingly optimistic with fairly low adoption by toxic folks.
Reality is already full of toxic people, you have to be positive in life or you won't be able to enjoy it.
I am a bitcoin maximalist. I don’t consider myself “toxic.”
 of courses... 👍🏻😉
In short, ICOs (not all) and VCs (not all) and fiat based companies (not all) use this ecosystem to purposefully scam newcomers, people trying to learn.

As you know, many have lost so much and will never return.

So bitcoiners, including you, started speaking out against these “scams.”

The response was these scammers labeled us “toxic” when all we were doing was trying to educate people.

It stuck and it has worked. Our voice has been relegated to the dark corners of the ecosystem.

Perhaps some got carried away and labeled reasonable projects scam, but on the whole, they did more good and likely helped many people.

Now, we are here following various hashtags and helping to grow NOSTR.

Is there a difference between a bitcoin maximalist and a toxic Bitcoin maximalist?

Point me in the direction of a few notes generated by the “toxic maxis?”

You're wrong Lopp. I'm a Bitcoin maximalist, I love it here and tell everyone I see about it.
I'm a maximalist too, but don't tell the toxic puritans! 😏

Unfortunately some maximalists hold the belief that you're not allowed to explore any new technologies that could somehow be considered competition to Bitcoin.
I’ve always rejected the term “Bitcoin Maximalist” in favor of simply “Bitcoiner”.

Its semantics, but semantics do come with connotations and baggage
I agree. I found on Twitter the toxic retards who were dogmatic aboutBitcoinn, were very confrontational, hot headed and close minded contributed nothing to Bitcoin and were not builders. I don't see them on nostr since most of them are big Elon simps too.
