 Bachmeir used a PPK, the Luger eventually ceased mass production because the Toggle mechanism was apparently too hard for gunsmiths and firearms manufacturers to build around.

 The Luger died off in the 80's from it being not profitable for Mauser, mind you those ones were Swiss bastards from Swiss tooling. The 08 pattern tooling Mauser had was taken to France after the war and was scrapped in the 60's.
