Of most famous painters, we see a small part of their works and obviously only the best part.

The rest are sketches and attempts that no one would ever buy except for the signature of their illustrious authors.
 Very true!
I visited Chadds Ford, PA years ago and got an Andrew Wyeth book that shows so many of his studies for major paintings.
It was a palpable sense of relief that even Andrew Wyeth did smaller sketches and practice paintings before producing masterpieces. It was a great encouragement to me and going there one of my fondest memories with my father.
