Pretty good?? 

 Haven’t read ! Watched dune 1 and 2 and decided to front run the story by reading the books 

 Bad idea. If you read the book first, you’ll be disappointed by the movie. Watch the movie first, then read the book for more detail and context. 

 Children of Dune and Dune Messiah are a bit of a slog but God Emperor . . . whooo doggie! Shit gets deep fast. 

 God Emperor is the intermission of the series. Also my favorite other than the first one 

 Mine too. 

 I got bogged down in God Emperor. How much talking can we do? 

But like all good Dune devotes, I stayed with it to the end. 

 When you find yourself in the middle of God Emperor of Dune and are asking yourself why you are still reading the books, just push through. 

 His son’s abominable collaborations with KJA to finish up the series was ….. 😔 actually worth reading for the few gems of Frank Herbert’s original notes that are the basis of their schlock

I’m glad I read them, and now understand the full arc, but gloss over the horrible writing and just extract out the timeline and essential facts 

 The BH/KJA are a totally different thing that are in their own category of stories. Some of them are better than other but I still end up reading them when each new one comes out. (44% into Princesses) 

 Ah I only mean the follow-up “trilogy” to finish the original arc

😭 at reading the rest, go read more of Frank’s short stories and novels instead, he was an amazing writer 

 Hahahaha after watching the second part Im thinking of doing the same. The way those societies and lineages work seems very interesting to me. 

 Great series.
