I have this abhorrence for disposable tech.. disposable anything really. There are certain things you don't have to keep buying to replace.

Businesses/people  purposely don't make things that last in the name of profit. Or if they do make quality things, it's unaffordable to the regular folk.

So don't be a fool. Someone's getting rich because you fell for their trap. Piss them off, make shit last or do the research for quality things that will and reward them for it.  

 Planned obsolescence is a plague of modern times.
Women's nylon stockings when they were invented were almost indestructible, but since few were sold, they decided to make nylon less durable.
Same with incandescent light bulbs.
I wouldn't be surprised if today's LED bulbs, made to last a long time and consume little, slowly burn out sooner. 

 People tend to also fall for the tech trends that are meaningless.

 Def one of them. Companies that make television and kitchen appliances. All the same.
