Plain wrong. The newscasts may give the erroneous impression that Gaza is a wall-to-wall urbanised area, but it's not. There are large open areas in Gazas south, which the IDF has also told the Gazan population to mive to. The fact of the matter is that Hamas & other Gaza militant factions actively use civilians as shields, and they are extremely quick and versed in using footage of harmed civilians as part of their international PR materials.

Just as late as Ocr 9 of this year an IDF soldier used a bound Palestinian man as a shield, as he was shooting people in the West Bank, where Hamas doesn't even have a presence.
