I completely agree, it would do extreme harm… but I also want to have a contingency plan if it does.

 It was a question. Let’s not make this more difficult than what it has to be. 

 We already have chaos throughout the world, it would just give us (first world nations) a taste of what the dollar has done to the rest of the world.  

 On a more positive note, this is why we should all be prepared, food, water, knowledge, skills, community and networks barter items and ₿,  so that it does not impact us as hard. 

 Would you be ok with a run on a few major banks? 

I sometimes believe that a bank run is on of the only ways citizens will change their relationship with money and the institutions they allow to custody it.

 It depends. A lot of people depend on these too big to fail banks. Thus if they go down many people will not have access to money. While I hate banking as it is today  the idea of a solvent bank is definitely accepted.
