 @5f9bb1a8 Large companies have policy restrictions (read: often long lasting bad choices)and license models which restrict valid choices on rational basis. No space for local or new initiatives, except if you are strong and have time to build a case

 @0abab07e True, but in this specific case, my colleague's client is a public company. In Italy, for years now, the rule has been to prioritize fully open-source solutions, and only in cases of unavailability, seek proprietary solutions. 
However, there is always someone inside, in some way "sponsored" by some big company, so using open source (Laravel, Kubernetes, etc.) but necessarily on Azure is acceptable 😉
