 @0abab07e True, but in this specific case, my colleague's client is a public company. In Italy, for years now, the rule has been to prioritize fully open-source solutions, and only in cases of unavailability, seek proprietary solutions. 
However, there is always someone inside, in some way "sponsored" by some big company, so using open source (Laravel, Kubernetes, etc.) but necessarily on Azure is acceptable 😉
