lol, this is the most unnecessary ratio I’ve seen on Nostr

all she said was “hey, let’s get some more technical writing going” 😂😂
She also reframed what I wrote, in order to use my post as a foil to talk about what SHE wanted to talk, which was something completely different.

I wasn't talking about onboarding anyone. It was a call for people to write long-form notes instead of only microblogging.
This is the second time within a week that someone with a big account did this to me.
The big account pile-ons have gotten so bad that I'm moving most of my material to long-form, to get away from these people.

I don't put that much effort into an idea, just to be a jumping off board for others, so that they can make money off of mogging me.

Strange/dark side of nostr I have not seen yet. Hmm
It started when my notes started trending. These people don't follow me or read threads.

They just go down the trending list and use the OP as an opportunity to regurgitate their favorite talking points and grandstand, rather than treating me like a human and interacting with me at my own level.
And they have a horde of yes-men.

It's low behavior and I won't be giving them this opportunity, again. Unlike them, I don't care about trending.
I see what you mean given the zaps and now understand that you're figuring out how to curate your feed.

Other than the fact they have a lot of followers and interacting you with the potential for monetary gain, I don't think that behavior could classify differently than what anyone else does when they try to get their ideas across. I know there is a specific shade of this behavior you're mentioning, but hell, i'm guilty of that too! While I do feel some type of way about it, there is a dynamic between the users and builders on nostr that disproportionally signals to users that this is how you build without actually programming.

Not going to debate the intent of the act, but if you want to actually remove that behavior - well, that conversation has been hashed out thoroughly. Feed control and community/relay moderation.

All of this is new to me as someone who never used twitter in its entire existence. It seems very much like a xitter behavior.
 It is.
You sure this is a pile on? I think I understand the dynamic you're pointing out because I recognize it, but I don't think that its that bad. You're getting engagement on an idea you threw out there. Great if its from a larger account because their followers will see the comment. Not sure how you're being sleighted here.
Maybe she's not being sleighted but pls god can we have nostr be the first social media that promotes people really connecting and understanding each other, instead of promoting manipulation
If you think their followers are reading my stuff, I have a bridge to nowhere, to sell you.

I am tired of these people making money and gaining followers by grandstanding in my threads. They should at least have to put in the effort of having an original thought or responding to the actual argument being made.
Yeh I’ve noticed the strawmanning increase lately. I’m getting a similar treatment over on X.

It could be laziness associated with the crab market, or exhaustion from the negativity online leading to these people having knee-jerk reactions.

Sucks when it’s a big account though.
Well, it has a rather simple counter-tactic, that you don't really have on X.

Put anything you feel strongly about in long-form notes, which are completely different events and usually require an extra click to see. They generally ignore those.
 😂
