 @096d2c53 If you put the link to the other post, there are several clients that will render it inline like a quote tweet. Also, if you have the better "advanced" interface enabled on the web, it'll just show up in the right sidebar and you don't lose your place, so I'd say just put the link to the post next time :) 

 @096d2c53 Because people on this website — in a stark contrast to their political views — are very resistant to change. They resisted changing the default instance to mastodon.social and enabling search among many other things. Apparently quote posting is “toxic.” I don’t get it.
