I Have BITCOIN But My Wife left me
I love the passion of fellow Bitcoiners
But recently I asked some people on the Bitcoin Walk
“How does your significant other feel about your Bitcoin passion?”
I was surprised by their answers:
“Oh they just do not get it”
“I tried to set them a wallet to put money into but they never did”
“They think I am crazy, but at least it better than my laser quest hobby”
I think I speak for most people here in that we have each at some point had conversations with friends, partners, or colleagues about our interest in Bitcoin.
My success rate of converting someone to Bitcoin is…
0%
I know this is because people will see the light in their own time
But I have to ask myself
“Why do I buy Bitcoin?”
To be honest part of it is to create a future for me, my family, and my friends.
Should we just go out and make new friends?
Get a new partner?
How can we build trust with others that we know what we are doing?
If they do not understand it?
Or is it just a case of happy wife, happy life?

Same here man. Although I don't have a wife it is hard to find one.
Friends either don't really care or just don't believe in it.
I live with the hope.
we all do brother! People will see the light, eventually they will have no choice!
I always say Bitcoin community needs more speed dating events not only regular meet ups and conferences. 😂
So sorry to hear that man... Finding a partner after Bitcoin is definitely more challenging but being active in Bitcoin community should help a lot....
It was already hard for me. Now with Bitcoin it's just twice as hard. Apparently it removed half of the girls as candidates 😄
Close relationships are a big topic on every bodies Bitcoin journey, I also have spent a lot of time thinking of this… I think it’s like everything in life, everything with moderation. Bitcoin cannot be your entire life while at some point Bitcoin sucks you in and it feels like that, you have to have an healthy relationship with Bitcoin and that together with a healthy relationship with someone else will be possible. I tend to be more of a lurker and although I consume considerable ammounts of time with the Bitcoin topic somebody from the outside would just view it as a hobby. Do not be toxic if the person does not have the same love for it respect their space and just ask the same for your interests while having a healthy relationship with Bitcoin that does not jeopardise your or your families futures. If you replace your Bitcoin interest with a interest in smoking weed I think you can find a good parallel. You can smoke weed and have a healthy relationship. You can also be a weed degen and go looking for a degen partner. But letting weed consume your life does not give your partner trust in you.
Sorry for your breakup. My wife doesn't get bitcoin / Austrian economics either, we also disagree politically with her focus on personal bodily sovereignty and mine on personal fiscal sovereignty.
We are both independent people but we love each other so it works for us.
My wife read the Bitcoin Standard, got it straightaway, and is now encouraging our three kids to put the money in their “save” jars into Bitcoin. She’s a keeper.
