You aren't insane, and yes, inflation is bullshit and unacceptable. Money should naturally grow in value over time. If it doesn't either society is literally dying, or your money sucks. 

 Or both...

Phrased differently, bitcoin has no top - both because society has unbounded potential, and fiat has no bottom. 

 Monero, constant, stable, growth.

Real money does exactly what you say. 

 If inflation isn’t bullshit, anyone should be able to do it and not restricted to a central bank. 

 A thought that everyone who deeply understands Bitcoin has pondered at one point or another 🫡 

 But it also helps grow fake wealth in things like real estate that depreciate. :)
