 Hard money vs fiat
 "Inovative destruction"

Heeeheee, we are so 1875 in our house!
A local distillery, now sadly gine due to a fire, sold a rum and ginger beer concoctio called "Gingeroo" in those same bottles. I not only saved every bottle, but also at parties where there were bottles I would come and gather the empty bottles on the day following the party. I have aroud a hundred of them and I use them to hold drinking water (we have outages more frequently than one would expect), maple syrup and any other liquid of valuie. I love them and I wish every liquid was distributed in bottles like this.

As an aside - plastic bottles didn't become popular until the mid-1970s. Glass sods bottles, sold in quarts/litres, were quite heavy if buying more than one and thus soda in the home wasn't popular back then. I remember my dad buying a case (16 bottles) of various sodas for a party and it weighed a ton lol.
