Oddbean new post about login | logout How many people out there are regularly using dictation on macOS? I've been using it all day and it's absolutely incredible. I remember trying it a few years back and it could barely keep up but now I can speak at full speed and barely think about punctuation and it just works. Technology is amazing.

I'm using it right now to reply to you. In all seriousness though, I've used it all day; writing emails, writing messages, taking notes, and writing issues and GitHub. The funniest thing is that it's making me realize that I speak and write in a very, very different way. So it'll probably also help me to improve the way that I speak and not use so many filler words.
You’ve convinced me to try this. Any special settings, software, or shortcuts, or are you just pressing the mic 🎤 key and using the built-in dictation feature on macOS?
Gonna try it in portuguese.
I've been using flowvoice.ai , runs everything through a model first to clean up ums and pauses and stuff, been amazing
