@Eòlach There are people that use that, there was a Pawoo or Baraag account called that, but since all of that happened after the meme, it was probably related to that. I don't know how common the term is.
It's probably common enough to people who actively use the dark web or are tech illiterate but less so with normies. I hadn't even known about it myself until Mental Outlaw mentioned it in one of their videos and all of a sudden I started seeing it everywhere.

@pistolero @Eòlach this encapsulates how I feel about it. I thought pedobear was the funniest thing back then, but the rare times I do see a reference to him now it just skeeves me out By the way, I heard a rumor once that the whole "mods are asleep, post sinks" thing wasn't just randumb humor, but rather they were somehow embedding csam or links to csam in those photos of sinks. Have you heard about this? What are your thoughts on it, is it even possible?
@i like tea and coffee @pistolero @Eòlach yeah of course it's possible, it's just steganography: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steganography It's not any better than posting CP from the perspective of the initial posters (worse, actually, because hiding the picture shows that the poster knows it's bad, the poster can't later claim he thought it was an immature 18-year-old) but from the perspective of the thread-followers, they can claim to have only downloaded sinks for the meme, and only reposted sinks for the meme, without knowing about the hidden payload.
